Frequently Asked Questions
-
How much will it cost?
Cost depends on the size of the stump and the number of stumps to be removed. Please see our quotation page for a step by step guide on how to measure a tree stump correctly.
-
Will I need to be on site whilst the work is carried out?
Not necessarily. As long as the quotation is discussed in full prior to the work being carried out and there is access, then you do not need to be on site.
-
Will the tree re-grow?
Usually any stump that has been removed will not regrow as it has been completely ground away. On the odd occasion a shoot may appear but with the right guidance from us it will be easily rectified. Trees that could send up a shoot are mainly from Willow and Poplar trees.
-
Will there be mess left?
We ensure the area is left neat, tidy and stump free. We use specialist shields that prevent the chippings from spreading to unwanted places.
-
I have a stump next to a wall, is that a problem?
Stumps next to walls, patios or buildings can still be removed just as effectively as stumps in open spaces without causing any damage. Our specialist machinery grinds by the millimetre with the most precision ensuring even the trickiest places can be tackled.
-
My stump is in the back garden?
We have a range of adaptable equipment to ensure stumps with restricted access can be ground out. Please discuss this with us further.
-
My tree died of honey fungus?
We recommend grinding out the stumps of trees that have died of honey fungus. This is to reduce the chance of other areas becoming infected. The mulch of the tree that would usually fill back in the hole should also be bagged up and disposed of. Please discuss this with us further.
